Vernon Hills police blotter
The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Vernon Hills Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.
DUI
Simon C. Shorter, 51, of 1112 Buena Road, Lake Forest, was charged Feb. 9 with driving under the influence of alcohol. He is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 27.
Retail theft
A 15-year-old male was charged Feb. 5 with retail theft after leaving Macy’s, 1 Hawthorn Center, without paying for $316 worth of clothing, police said.
