The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Vernon Hills Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.
MINOR ALCOHOL
• Shannon N. Nugent, 18, of 2062 Broadmoor Lane, Vernon Hills, was charged Thursday, Jan. 3, with consumption of alcohol by a minor.
• Caitlyn R. Sernett, 18, of 1525 Oakmont Drive, Vernon Hills, was charged Thursday, Jan. 3, with consumption of alcohol by a minor.
• Patrick E. Newman, 18, of 160 Ranney Ave., Vernon Hills, was charged Thursday, Jan. 3, with consumption of alcohol by a minor.
• Lauren N. Hernandez, 18, of 311 Richmond Place, Vernon Hills, was charged Thursday, Jan. 3, with possession of alcohol by a minor.
• Kevin G. Davis, 18, of 604 Quakerridge Court, Vernon Hills, was charged Thursday, Jan. 3, with possession of alcohol by a minor.
FAKE ID
• Thomas B. Merritt, 19, of 515 Cambridge Lane, Lake Bluff, was charged Friday, Jan. 4, with possession of a fake ID and attempted possession of alcohol by a minor after allegedly trying to buy alcohol with a fake ID. He faces a Jan. 25 court date.
THEFT
• Maria G. Cabral, 46, of 713 W. Highland Terrace, Round Lake Beach, was charged Sunday, Jan. 6, with retail theft after allegedly leaving Sears, 2 Hawthorn Center, without paying for a hat. She faces a Feb. 14 court date.
• Brenda Cabral, 20, of 713 W. Highland Terrace, Round Lake Beach, was charged Sunday, Jan. 6, with retail theft after allegedly leaving Sears, 2 Hawthorn Center, without paying for a hat. She faces a Feb. 14 court date.
• Darylinn A. Geisen, 42, of 503 Cherry Valley Road, Vernon Hills, was charged Saturday, Jan. 5 with retail theft after allegedly leaving Walmart, 555 E. Townline Road, without paying for $78.30 worth of electronics. She faces a Feb. 14 court date.
WARRANT
• Brian J. Esch, 26, of 721 N. Lakeside Drive, Vernon Hills, was arrested Wednesday, Jan. 2, on a McHenry County warrant for allegedly filing a false police report. He was expected in court on Jan. 8.
