St. Mary of the Lake to host leadership course

The University of St. Mary of the Lake in Mundelein hosts its annual Christopher Leadership Weekend Course for adults from March 9 to 11. Community members can join seminarians in a leadership-training program conducted in the framework of the Gospel message. Associate Dean of Formation at Mundelein and a former Christopher course graduate, Rev. Gus Belauskas, remarks that the course provides “tremendous benefits to anyone seeking personal growth and confidence building.”

The Christopher Leadership Course is sponsored by The Christophers, a non-profit organization founded in 1945 by Fr. James Keller, MM. The mission of The Christophers is to encourage people of all ages, and from all walks of life, to use their God-given talents to make a positive difference in the world. Libertyville teen among winners of
reality contest

Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana, the largest council in the nation, announces the winners of its Reality Check interactive video campaign designed to empower girls to share the “real” realities of their lives on video. Hannah Zerwas of Libertyville won “The Mash Award.” Chosen by student writers and editors of The Mash, published by The Chicago Tribune, “The Mash Award” recognized Hannah’s ability to creatively share why being a teenager is much more difficult than being a “kid.” Hannah received a $250 Best Buy gift card.
