Kronowitz, who lives in Mundelein, will exhibit 10 recent oil paintings of the Lipizzan stallions that perform at Tempel Farms in Old Mill Creek. Liberty Town Productions
Holding auditions for “They’re Playing Our Song” from 1-3 p.m. Sept. 16 and 7-9 p.m. Sept. 17 in Libertyville High School’s choir room (enter through east side door). The musical calls for male and female leads and a strong adult choral ensemble. All characters are young adult through middle age appropriate. Evening and some weekend rehearsals will begin Sept. 24; production dates are Nov. 30-Dec. 1. All auditioning should come comfortably dressed, be ready to sing 32 bars from a musical theater song, and bring corresponding sheet music. Accompaniment will be provided. Ivanhoe Heritage Festival

Country Bumpkin Festival

Visitors can view five buildings of historic interest including the 1837 Caspar Ott log house, Lake County’s oldest standing building, which celebrates its 175th anniversary this year. Other buildings include a farm house, one-room schoolhouse, carriage house and visitor center. Permanent exhibit: “Deerfield History,” from the first settlers through the 1950s. Admission is free; donations are welcomed.
