1. Callipygian Players will present “British Invasion” at 4 p.m. Jan. 29 as part of the Early Music series at the Byron Colby Barn at Prairie Crossing, 1561 Jones Point Road, Grayslake. Martin Davids, violin, Craig Trompeter, cello, and David Schrader, harpsichord, will perform a concert of music from Great Britain, including works by Henry Eccles, Purcell and Handel. 2. “Zora,” an American Place Theatre Literature to Life stage presentation, 7 p.m. Feb. 1 at the College of Lake County’s James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts, 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake. The dramatic biography of Zora Neale Hurston, an African-American writer of the 1930s and celebrated figure from the Harlem Renaissance, is performed by Cheryl Howard.
