But she never dreamed her new shop, Jolly Good Fellows Sweet Boutique on Market Square in Lake Forest, would draw the crowds it has since it opened May 31. “We’re so busy, we have hundreds of people in here every day,” she said.

Lake Forest native Justin Smith believes he’s found the lacrosse Mecca on the North Shore with the third location for The Lax Shop. “We’re totally in the center of the lacrosse hotbed in the northern suburbs,” Smith said of the store, located at 2575 Waukegan Road in Bannockburn.
Alzheimer’s home hopes to build in Vernon Hills
Saying high occupancy rates in assisted living homes demonstrate a need for more Lake County sites, developers are eyeing a piece of land in Vernon Hills for Alzheimer’s care. Representatives from Texas-based South Bay Partners want to build a 66-unit, one-story rental home on a seven-acre lot on Milwaukee Avenue, about a mile south of Townline Road.
Mundelein’s Party Fantasy wants outdoor go-kart track
Residents may soon see an outdoor go-kart track at the Party Fantasy in Mundelein. Management approached the village board for permission on May 13 and got a preliminary 5-1 approval, despite minor concerns over safety and noise.
