VERNON HILLS

Large crowds flocked to Vernon Hills last weekend to satisfy their music and ribs fix.

Grammy award winning band Los Lonely Boys and local singing sensation Jamie Lono opened the Little Bear Ribfest Friday night in Century Park.

The two-day festival, held on the shoreline of Little Bear Lake, continued with more ribs and blues music on Saturday.

The six area rib vendors included Sweet Baby Rays, Uncle Bub’s, Smokin’ Ts, the Full Slab, Real Urban Barbecue and Brothers Ribs. The Mundelein-Vernon Hills Rotary Club set up a corn roast while Bo-Bo’s restaurant sold ice cream and desserts.

The Red, White & Blues Band, a Chicago-based blues band, was the first act on Saturday, followed by Tallan Noble Latz, a young blues artist from Wisconsin. Canadian blues guitarist and singer-songwriter Matt Andersen headlined the Saturday festivities.

Former Chicago Bears star Otis Wilson signed autographs.
